Photographs by Dylan Hollingsworth will be released in his solo show “The End of The Beginning” (2007-2010) at the Magnolia Theater (in the West Village) Thursday, April 15, 2010.  Opening reception goes from 8-10pm and will be in the bar area upstairs in the lobby of the movie theater.

Dylan is a dear friend of mine whom, I’ve watch develop a tremendous amount over the past few years…. to the point where I’m convinced he’s unstoppable.  It’s rare you see a person take off and continue to find the love and moxie for what it takes to pursue the dream.  Dylan’s talent is amazing as he continues to blow me away with the concepts that he executes on.  A couple of these will be on display tomorrow.   The show will include images from his “early years” as well as a taste for what to expect from Dylan Hollingsworth in the future.  That doesn’t mean old stuff from the closet and then a few new ones.  All of the photographs are freshly framed and ready to sell.  Some, I know you’ve never seen before and… will never forget.  Hope you can join me in celebrating the art of Dylan. This eighty-something year old kid, teaches the adult Sunday School class at the church down the street. As my friend Steve put’s it, “Bill’s teachings are 25% Bible and 75% Life.” Bill has a magical sense to him…. similar to those found in the movie Big Fish. He also reminds me of a man I read about earlier today on this blog named Govan. Looking forward to spending more time with Bill… and hopefully, I’ll be able to share some parts of it with you one day soon.

Things are getting remodeled at the church.

My other 75% comes from recent reads (that I’ve enjoyed the last couple of weeks) found in A Message to Garcia, A Million Miles In A Thousand Years, and To Own a Dragon.

You were my pride and joy – friend and teacher – You represented love, hope and faith. I will forever honor your gifts with gratitude. You gave me life and showed me how to love each moment. My life was easy with you in it. You taught me forgiveness and compassion, and most of all acceptance. You looked up to us, but instead guided us with the purest servant heart. Nothing will ever replace you OR the light that shined through your being. You were a princess and a diva and…everyone loved you. I’m lucky you picked me… even though it wasn’t for as long as I’d hoped. My commitment to you is to finish what we started together. I pray for you to continue to be with me in spirit… as I am with you. Thank you for everlasting love and memories. You were the real deal.
